More Panels Fall Off Metrodome

After the Metrodome Roof initially collapsed, there was speculation if they could fix it in time for the Monday Night Football game. Well, turns out, it was definitely not in the cards to fix it in time. The 4th panel fell off this week and the working crews were sent home. The Monday Night game was then sent to TCF Bank Stadium in the Dinkytown Area of Minneapolis. Stay tuned for more information regarding the HHH Metrodome.

A friend just sent me a picture from inside the Metrodome Minneapolis. He said that it looks as though they have months of work to do in order to open the Metrodome back up. By the looks of the picture, I tend to agree. I wonder if we will ever see the Minnesota Vikings play at the Metrodome in Minneapolis again? Perhaps I should save my Vikings Ticket stub from the Vikings Bills game because that could be a collectors item!

Story of the Decade: Metrodome Roof Collapse

The skyline of Minneapolis looks quite strange today without the white bubble of the Metrodome part of the cityscape. The inflatable Teflon roof of the Metrodome collapsed around 5am Sunday morning after our monstrous snowstorm dumped about 20 inches on Minneapolis.

I am sure this will be the Metrodome story of the decade (and perhaps the theme for many peep dioramas come spring). Unfortunately, the Vikings had to move the Vikings vs. Giants game originally scheduled for Sunday at noon to Detroit's Ford Field with a 6:20pm kick-off tonight.

The best news is that: “Metropolitan Sports Facilities Commission chairman Roy Terwilliger said he's optimistic the roof can be repaired in time for the Vikings to host the Chicago Bears in their next scheduled home game on Dec. 20, giving workers eight days to replace three damaged panels and re-raise the Teflon roof.”

The Metrodome roof has failed three times before. It deflated in 1981, 1982 and 1983, each time due to tears caused by heavy snow. A slight tear also delayed a Twins game briefly in 1986, but other than that – the white bubble has been pretty reliable for Minnesota sports fans.

Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Giants on December 12

On Sunday, December 12, the Minnesota Vikings will square off with the New York Giants. The Minnesota Vikings are coming off of a 38-14 win over the Buffalo Bills and have won 2 straight. The New York Giants were the Super Bowl Champions in 2008, when they defeated the undefeated New England Patriots. It was one of the best football games I have ever watched and can remember where I was and who I was with. The Giants are led by quarterback Eli Manning, who of course, happens to have an older brother who is decent at football. After Brett Favre's injury on Sunday, will he start against the Giants? Minnesota Vikings vs. Buffalo Bills on Sunday, December 5th

At noon on Sunday, December 5th, the Buffalo Bills will visit the Minnesota Vikings at the Metrodome in Minneapolis. The Minnesota Vikings stand at 4-7 and will face the 2-9 Buffalo Bills. The Bills have Ryan Fitzpatrick at quarterback, Steve Johnson at wide receiver, and the running back tandem of Fred Jackson and rookie CJ Spiller. Minnesota Vikings Have 3 Straight Home Games

After having a tough 1st half of the regular season, the Minnesota Vikings now have 3 straight home games. The 3 games are against the Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, and the Chicago Bears. If the Minnesota Vikings can rally on this homestead, it would create definitely some buzz around here. Although they are currently 4-7, there is still an outside shot at making the playoffs if they could finish 9-7. One game at a time however. Metrodome Parking Experience

Parking for sporting events is never entertaining. Sometimes it can be a hassle and a burden for fans. However, the parking experience at the Metrodome is simple and can be easy. I recommend purchasing a pre-approved parking pass from our Ticket King website for any Minnesota Vikings game. It allows quick access to the game and is worth the price of the pass in my opinion.

Other than parking on site (the parking lot at the Metrodome), there are many ramps and surface lots that are privately owned. Most parking ramps and lots will charge anywhere from $15 to $30. The earlier you arrive, along with sometimes the further you park, tends to be cheaper since the lots closest will charge higher.
