The Vikings Roster Continues to Evolve:

The Vikings roster continues to evolve during the off-season including signing of former Packers receiver Greg Jennings to replace the traded Percy Harvin, retained Jerome Simpson on offense as well. Signing veteran quarterback Matt Cassel as a backup to Christian Ponder. The Vikings are also retaining right tackle Phil Loadhot and Pro Bowl fullback Jerome Felton. The rest of Minnesota's comings and goings so far have been on defense. At linebacker, Erin Henderson is back but Jasper Brinkley is not traded to Arizona.

In the secondary, one safety has re-signed in Jamarca Sanford, while another in Hussain Abdullah has left for Kansas City. Veteran cornerback Antoine Winfield has been released but remains unsigned. The roster will change, but our purple pride remains the same, and this is the way it should be.

Minnesota Vikings Information

The Minnesota Vikings is a professional football team that competes in the North Division of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). The Minnesota Vikings have been based out of Minneapolis, Minnesota since 1961. The Vikings Headquarters is in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Currently, the Minnesota Vikings roster calls the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome home.

The Minnesota Vikings look is one of the few that has not changed over time. When the team started playing in 1961, the Vikings had a very similar look to the Vikings jerseys and helmets that the team plays in today. The Minnesota Vikings jerseys are purple, gold and white with Vikings horns and Norseman imagery. This stable imagery and lack of a defined mascot has allowed Vikings football fans to create an idealized version of the Viking that comes complete with a Helga Hat for most fans. Helga Hats are purple with white Vikings horns and blonde braids.
