Vikings lose, Metrodome empties out

The Minnesota Vikings lost to the Washington Redskins at the Metrodome on Sunday night and lost the chance to secure a playoff spot. It is highly unlikely that the Vikings will make the playoffs and even if they do a home playoff game is next to impossible…that being said the Metrodome will be mighty quiet until the Minnesota Twins opener on March 31st…don’t get me wrong there is a home and landscape show scheduled the month of January and the annual Twins fest always draws a crowd, but not the 60,000 fans the Metrodome would draw in a Vikings playoff game.

Tap Beer

I was lucky enough to snag a couple of Vikings Tickets to last Monday Night's big game versus the Chicago Bears at HHH Metrodome. While I was walking in the Dome right before kickoff, I stopped at one of the beer stands and grabbed a tap of light beer. When I got down to my seats, I tasted my beer for the first time and I almost had to spit it out. It tasted as though the beer lines hadn't been cleaned in ten years. Luckily, soon after, a beer vendor came down the aisle by the section of my Minnesota Vikings Tickets and I was able to buy a beer in a bottle. I don't consider myself a beer snob but I would like to be able to at least swallow my beer. I definitely recommend sticking to beer in a bottle if you are going to the final Vikings game at the Minneapolis Metrodome tomorrow night.

Metrodome Stays in Prime Time

The Metrodome was rockin’ on Monday night as the Minnesota Vikings beat the Chicago Bears on national television. The Metrodome will get less than a week to rest as the Minnesota Vikings will play the Washington Redskins on Sunday December 22nd in another prime time game that could further clarify the NFC playoff picture. Buy your Metrodome tickets now because the Vikings are hot and this is your last chance to see the Minnesota Vikings at the HHH Metrodome this year! See ya at the Dome!

Vikings Bears Tickets

Local ticket broker sites are listing Vikings Bears tickets at a minimum of $80 each for the Monday night football game on December 17th. That is one hot Metrodome ticket! I guess with only two Vikings home games left, the Metrodome is the place to be especially with the potential of a Vikings playoff berth. Go Vikes!

Metrodome on Prime Time

Virtually no one else outside of the state of Minnesota has noticed this but the Minnesota Vikings play the Chicago Bears on 12/17 which is Monday Night Football. There is also a very good chance that the game time for the Minnesota Vikings versus the Washington Redskins time will be changed for noon to 7:00 pm. That would be two Vikings Football games at the Metrodome on prime time television in one month. Not bad for a NFL team and NFL venue that four weeks ago were left for dead. It will be fun to have the Minneapolis Metrodome rocking in December. Who knows, Maybe there will even be a home playoff game?

The highlights of the schedule are the Minnesota Twins games versus the New York Yankees on 5/31-6/1 and the Minnesota Twins versus the the Boston Red Sox 5/9-5/12. Gopher vs. Badger Tickets Loosen Up

This Saturday's game at the Metrodome between the Gopher Football Team and the Wisconsin Badger Football Team has lost a lot of its early season luster. The Wisconsin Badgers started the season with national title hopes while the Minnesota Gophers saw an opportunity to improve with the head coaching change. Neither of those pre-season aspirations have come true. The Gopher Football Team is limping into this weekend's match at the HHH Metrodome with a 1-9 record and the Wisconsin Badger Football Team has a respectable yet disappointing 8-3 record.

Both of those factors have lead to an abundance of Minnesota vs. Wisconsin Badger Tickets being available. The University of Minnesota still has nose bleed seats available for this game at $60/Ticket. If you are more interested in sitting in seats where you can actually see, excellent seats can be had for as little as $69/Ticket form any number of online ticket sites. Not bad for a game where Gopher Football Tickets historically sell for at least double that price for comparable seats.

David Beckham visits the Metrodome

The biggest “thing” to hit the Metrodome in awhile was the arrival of David Beckham and the Los Angeles Galaxy to take on the Minnesota Thunder soccer team. Thousands of fans went to the Metrodome to see David Beckham do something exciting. He gave them what they wanted when he lofted a pass to Edson Buddle from 30 yards out, hitting Buddle in the chest and setting him up for an easy goal. It was the Galaxy's only regulation goal in a 1-1. The Galaxy went on to beat the USL's Minnesota Thunder in a shootout. Soccer has a definite following in the Twin Ciites, it’s not as big as football or hockey, but with there were plenty of fans at the Metrodome to see an exhibition soccer game, perhaps more fans than are at an NBA Timberwolves game these days.

SI.com Ranks NFL Stadiums

Sports Illustrated recently ranked the "Fan Experience" of all 32 NFL stadiums. The Metrodome ranked 31st out of 32 venues. The only stadium that ranked below the HHHMetrodome was Giant Stadium in New Jersey. I have never claimed that the Metrodome is the perfect place to watch a sporting event and I am not an expert on NFL stadiums but I have had plenty of good times at the dome. Who can forget the 1998 Vikings Season, the Minnesota Twins World Series runs or most recently Adrian Peterson's record breaking performance? All of those GREAT events took place at the Metrodome.

Here is the most critical excerpt from the story:

The "stadium was built under budget and it shows" in the scarcity of "style, fan comfort and amenities." Seats, "many [of which] have poor or obstructed visibility," are "tiny" and offer "very little leg room." Concourses are "painfully narrow" and "too crowded." "Too few bathrooms" force fans to stand in "lines that reach deep into the concourse" to use "trough-style urinals [in the men's rooms]." And the "PA system is unintelligible."

Unfortunately, I can't argue with any of the their complaints. After reading this, it is no wonder that the Minnesota Vikings are having a hard time selling Vikings Tickets!
