A group of Minnesota state lawmakers proposed that the Metrodome be given to the Minnesota Vikings team. The plan would be that the Vikings sign a contract of 25 years and would assume the costs it takes to operate the Metrodome.
The Vikings said, 'no thanks.'
As the story goes, the Metrodome no longer works for the team. The plan would allow the Vikings to make any changes they wanted to the venue that they cannot currently make due to the team not owning the stadium.
This plan had been proposed many years ago, when the Minnesota Twins were looking for a new home. The Twins, obviously, declined as well.
Poor Metrodome...it's the ugly step-sister that no one wants around.
